The 2014 Estates Reserve Pinot Noir is classic "Oregon Pinot". Complex aromas of black cherry, rose petal, herbal tea, vanilla, toasted hazelnuts, leather, herbs, and spices are all prevalent on the expressive nose. The palate is at first elegant: with notes of marionberry, rose petals, and toasty vanillin-oak, but leads into a complex array of flavors as it lingers on the palate. Aged 16 months in French oak, the wine finishes with power and grace. The tannins are strong, yet have a defined finesse. It is sure to age gracefully for at least a decade or two.
