Pashey
About Pashey Nugent
Pashey Chapman Nugent was born in the English countryside during World War I. Denied access to formal education because of her Romani heritage, she developed a lifelong philosophy: never let others define what you can or cannot do.
In the 1930s, Pashey chose love over tradition, eloping with Hubert Nugent—a supply worker she met while her family camped near the town of Reading. Though the decision led to her exile from her community, she began a new life just outside London, raising five children during the bombings and hardships of World War II. Her strength and conviction shaped a household rooted in perseverance, independence, and ambition.
A Sparkling Tribute
Though she passed away in 1953 at just 38 years old, her legacy lives on through the generations she inspired, including her great-grandson, Trisaetum’s winemaker James Frey.
Pashey was created in celebration of her 100th birthday—a tribute to a woman who never settled for the ordinary. Each bottle embodies her bold spirit: elegant, enduring, and unmistakably defiant.
“Enter Pashey, the brainchild of top-notch winemaker James Frey, who crafts some world-class méthode champenoise wines.”
