Proprietor/Winemaker/Artist James Frey. From his days growing up as a photographer in Santa Cruz to those running businesses, James has always been a confusing mix of right-brain and left-brain. Asked to wear a number of hats for Trisaetum, we often have to send out a search party to track him down in the vineyard, barrel cave, art studio, backyard (passing football with Tristen or softball with Tatum), or any number of places we’re convinced he disappears to in order to flee his more mundane responsibilities.
Proprietor Andrea Frey. Growing up as the youngest of seven girls on a Wisconsin dairy farm, not only can Andrea drive a tractor, but she’s certainly at home in the vineyard. Responsible for Trisaetum’s finances, bookkeeping, and customer relations, she juggles these duties with being mom to Tristen and Tatum. Known for an ability to strike up a conversation with anyone (on any topic), we look to Andrea to keep things real around the winery.
Winemaker Greg McClellan. An alum of Portland’s Reed
College and the post-doctorate program in Viticulture & Enology at
the CFPPA in Beaune, Greg brings a zest for life to his duties at
Trisaetum (along with a knowledge of Pinot Noir in the different
environments of Oregon, New Zealand, and France). He also brings a
tendency for mismatched socks, cooking offal meats, and hair that tends
to defy gravity on a regular basis.
Wine & Vineyard Consultant Josh Bergstrom. We are fortunate to have Josh Bergstrom as a wine and vineyard consultant to Trisaetum, as his passion for and dedication to winemaking has, at a young age, already allowed him to reach the peak of his profession. Since Josh began crafting small lots of exceptional wine for his family’s “Bergstrom” label, he has in nine years been recognized as one of the truly great winemakers in the United States.
Retail Manager Alice Ingraham. Responsible for Trisaetum’s tasting room, art gallery, internet sales, and event coordination, Alice is forced to juggle a lot of responsibilities throughout the winery. For good measure, she’s also become quite proficient at berry sorting, bottle labeling, and blending trials. A bit of a neat freak, Alice’s greatest frustration is keeping James and Greg from making a mess of the place.
Director of Sales & Marketing Scott Nagle. Representing premium wineries internationally for 9 years combined with 14 years of experience working in the luxury hotel market, Scott brings a strong working knowledge and passion for food and wine to Trisaetum. When Scott is not cooking for friends, you will most likely find him skiing in the near by mountains or biking through the beautiful Willamette Valley he calls home.
Tasting Room Associate Manager Ryan Reichert. A finance graduate originally from Northeast Ohio, Ryan relocated to the Willamette Valley to trade his spreadsheets for a full time career in the wine industry. As the Associate Manager for our Tasting Room, he offers exuberant enthusiam for wine, food, and world travel. An active wine blogger and columinst in his spare time, Ryan enjoys sharing his passion for wine with everyone he meets, and still manages to find occasion for spreadsheets now and then.
Coast Range Vineyard Jim and Valerie Frey. With Trisaetum from the beginning, Jim and Valerie still work the Coast Range vineyard year-around. A former engineer that worked on the Gemini space missions and the national observatory on Haleakala, Jim is typically the person we turn to when things break down and need repair. Valerie, who was born in London during WWII and ran away to America at the age of 18, still lives by the philosophy “we’ll see it through to the end”---a philosophy that came in quite handy in the early days of Trisaetum.
Vineyard & Winery Consultant Tristen Frey. When not attending the 6th grade, playing football for the local Trisaetum Vineyards youth football team, or jamming on electric guitar, Tristen gets to help with cluster sorting, leaf pulling, and punch-down activities.
Vineyard & Winery Consultant Tatum Frey. When not attending the 5th grade, attending jazz class and piano lessons, or riding horses, Tatum gets to help with fruit thinning, berry sorting, and shoot positioning.
Vineyard Dogs Murray and Angus. Responsible for bird and mole control, the undersized duo of pug Murray and chihuahua Angus enjoy trotting up and down vineyard rows, napping in the shade of oak trees, begging for food from unsuspecting vineyard workers, and barking at imaginary elk, cougars, and bobcats outside the deer fence (at least we hope they’re imaginary).
